Candlebox
Don't knock it.... Who am I kidding. Most of the people reading this blog probably weren't even out of elementary school when this album came out.
I'm not sure how i feel about them touring again. They are one of those bands that should have just stopped while they were ahead. Which was in 1993.
Candlebox
Pearl Jam
you thought i was going to post Ten didn't you... wrong.... i just got around to listening to this album a couple of days ago. I'm going to suggest you completely skip the songs they tend to play on the radio. I'm also going to suggest you completely skip any song on here that doesn't sound like it's easy listening. (maybe it's just me, but i can only take eddie vedders voice in very low doses which means i can't stand when he screams and that only leaves me with like 15 songs out of their entire discography that i can get behind)
I recommend
Come Back
Army Reserve
Gone
Inside Job
Marker in the Sand
Parachutes
and with that being said... here is the album
Pearl Jam
Blind Melon
Laugh all you want, but this was in my opinion (mainly because i was very guilty of it) one of the most overlooked albums from the 90's. Sure the song that everyone knows them for will always associate them with the bee girl and some hippie jam band song, but if you can get past that and listen to other songs on the album, you'll get what i'm saying. Go listen to "tones of home" or "Change" or "I wonder".
Blind Melon
The Afghan Whigs
This is definitely the best album released in the 90's. If anyone reading this actually knows me, they know I'm a Greg Dulli fanatic. The man is a complete wreck, but goddamn that translates into some amazing lyrics. This is their album "Gentlemen" that was released in 1993. Go ahead and skip to the song "when we two parted" and you'll completely agree with me. It's the best sad bastard song out there to date....
Check out some of his side projects
*my personal favorite project* The Twilight Singers
*his most recent and brilliant project with Mark Lanegan (from The Screaming Trees)* The Gutter Twins
